Natural Product Network Conference (NPRONET)
Professor Diane Kelly was an invited speaker at the latest NPRONET conference which took place on 29th-30th October 2018 in Manchester. Professor Kelly delivered a presentation on P450 biodiversity in natural product biotechnology.
The cytochrome P450 gene/enzyme system is central to xenobiotic metabolism and the detoxification of diverse organic chemicals in the biosphere. The research undertaken by the Centre for Cytochrome P450 Biodiversity at Swansea University Medical school has led to the formulation and development of a number of commercially important drugs.
PRONET is a BBSRC NIBB, centring on natural products discovery and bioengineering.
